The three things that I am most proud of
in my professional career were: (1) The hiring of a number of people who have
gone on to leadership positions in radio, television and cable, including Bob
Pittman ex-COO of AOL Time Warner (and co-founder of MTV), John Lack, co-founder
of MTV; William Grimes ex-partner B&G Media Investments, ex-CEO ESPN, Univison, and Multimedia; Herb McCord, ex-CEO of Granum Communication; Norm Feuer
ex-CEO of Triathalon Broadcasting; (2) Being awarded
an Innovator Award for Research by Arbitron for the
first computer ratings analysis system in the radio industry in 1971; and (3)
being given an outstanding achievement award by the Chicago Women in
Broadcasting for contributing the most during the year in hiring and
promoting women and minorities.

In 2001, I helped design
the curriculum for the University of Missouri School of Journalism's online MA
program in Media Management and taught Media Management and Leadership online.

curriculum for the first Media Management Program for the New School of Social

curriculum for, and implemented the four-day Management Seminar for News
Executives and solicited and received sponsorship from the Radio Television
News Directors Association (RTNDA).
Primary creator and
curriculum co-designer for the two-and-a-half day News Management Seminar
for Women and Minorities sponsored by the Radio and Television News Directors
Foundation (RTNDF) and funded by the Freedom Forum and Phillips Petroleum.
